beauty on the road
I was driving up the road and, over the hill, I saw the fullness of the moon. I was initially taken in by the beauty of the moon itself and tried to exclude the things made by humans: the road, the telephone poles.
So strange that my immediate impulse is that the natural world is beautiful and things made by humans are not. It’s the whole scene that is beautiful, natural and human-made elements.
Nature made us and, by extension, all the things we made. The notions of humans against the elements, bending nature to our will, our war against nature…are they not really us being at war with ourselves?
I turned around and saw the sunset behind me and felt blessed to see the two: the ascendance of the moon and the setting of the sun.
